“Chasing Dreams”
When I saw this reference by Jacqueline Baker-Dykstra, I immediately fell in love with the spontaneity of this little girl chasing bubbles. Chasing dreams is ever so relatable to the chasing bubbles. Sometimes you catch them, sometimes you don’t but never give up trying.
“What Can You Imagine”
Artist’s works are often depicted on their perception of the world. This painting is to let the pigment move on the paper and to let you the viewer see what you want to see. Imagine what you want to imagine. In life we see, hear and imagine. Let this painting do the same. What Can You Imagine.

“Longprest”
I have chosen to demonstrate how a bull can display “Bursting with Life”.
When we had our property we were fortunate to have the most beautiful gentle giant of a Bull called “Longprest”. Whenever we turned our tractor on he would bounce around like he was at a Rodeo – not sure if it was a game to him or he was excited because the cattle used to get fed with the use of the tractor. But you could not help but laugh at how such a large majestic quiet animal could “Burst with life” whenever the tractor was running near him.

“Bird Life on Moores Creek Kershaw Gardens”
Living by Moores Creek and strolling along its edge, I am captivated by the vibrant birdlife that flourishes here. Numerous duck species and elegant white egrets are frequently seen playing at the water’s edge. After a recent rain shower, which rejuvenated the water holes and invigorated the creek, I felt inspired to paint this lively scene bursting with life.

LYN HOWARD
“Hurricane Spud” The first thing you notice about Spud is his happiness – his face and movements resonate with joy. Then you notice that he only has three legs. While still a pup, Spud suffered a catastrophic injury. Caught by a large ferocious dog, Spud’s back leg was firmly wedged in his attacker’s jaws. The scene was horrible and the aftermath devastating. Would he survive? The veterinary staff worked hard to save his life – which mercifully they did - but his leg was lost. After several days in hospital Spud returned home on Christmas Eve 2023. He had bite marks all over him, the pain of an amputation and worst of all the trauma. Fortunately, Australian Cattle Dogs are a stoic breed. With lots of love and nurturing Spud turned a corner. By 2024, the happy little pup was showing his determination to live his best life. Today he leaps, runs, digs, hugs all with his three legs. In fact, he is a hurricane, a ball of joy who bursts with life. In my painting I have depicted Spud at the vortex of his leap demonstrating his ‘high’ whilst coming out of the whirlwind of pain and dark times to soar above adversity to live his ‘Best Life’. |
MANDY DOLLERY
Mandy Dollery’s journey into the arts was interrupted by life’s responsibilities. “Beauty From The Beast”
“On the day of creation when God looked down at all that He had made
He saw some things that were not so beautiful to behold
So He added something that would catch our attention
That would grow with the spines and the leathery leaves
Something else so beautiful that we would not notice them
If we looked at the beauty and not at the thorns.”
