Throughout May and June, the creativity of Central Queensland communities will be celebrated through the Shine Bright Festival. The festival will shine a spotlight on regional talent through a curated program of events. A first of its kind, this cross regional festival will be celebrated across 14 diverse regions, from as far north as The Whitsundays, down to the South Burnett and out west to the Central Highlands.
Communities will shine through a program of events including live performance, exhibitions, animated projected artworks, open studios, workshops and more. The Shine Bright Festival will be encouraging audiences to get out and explore the incredible creativity that thrives across Central Queensland.

SHINE BRIGHT THE CREEK SESSIONS
The Creek Sessions are a relaxed Sunday afternoon “performance session” held on the banks of Fig Tree Creek (at the KCA Artship) in Yeppoon. The Creek Sessions feature musicians, poets, authors, actors, multimedia artists and performers scheduled over nine performance dates from July 2017 to April 2020, extended due to Covid restrictions to a final date of May16, 2021. This collaborative, innovative and supportive arts and performance program presents new and original material from both working and emerging artists. This is a great opportunity to present new material, and a great way to develop performance, presentation, material development and expression skills through workshops and collaboration, not to mention a terrific afternoon of entertainment for performance enthusiasts! The Shine Bright Studio Open Day is your opportunity to step inside the working studios of 4 well known local artists and explore how they work, watch the processes involved in creating their art.
On Sunday 13 June between 10 am and 2 pm you can book yourself a visit to any (or ALL) of these studios. Grab your map, plan your route, book your visits to suit yourself on this lovely Sunday outing. |
