SING FOR CAPRICORN

We are people from the community who love to sing. There is no audition, no need to read music and we welcome all to attend our Thursday evening rehearsals from 7:00 to 8.30pm at the Community Development Centre in John St, Yeppoon. Our emphasis is on fun and enjoyment of the music and each other while seeking to develop an understanding of the music and add skill in our delivery.

 There's lots in store including some classic hits like “Let it Be”, “Imagine” and “We are the World”, plus other fantastic new songs.

Term 3 Choir Details:
 Schedule: Every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
 Location: Community Development Centre, John Street, Upstairs
 Duration: 11th July 2024 to 12th September 2024 (10 weeks)
 Cost: $70 (includes new sheet music and a snazzy folder
Join us for 10 weeks of pure musical magic!
For our casual singer, it's $10 per week, plus a one-time $10 for the folder and $10 for the music. So, the first week will be $30 if you need the folder.
For those newcomers who are curious about joining our choir, please come along and enjoy the first night for free.
Our emphasis is on fun and enjoyment of the music and each other while seeking to develop an understanding of the music and skill in our delivery. We have performed at Carols by the Beach, Festival of the Winds, Village Festival, nursing home and most notably a flashmobs at Keppel Plaza (4 times so far).

History:
Beginning with 4 members we have grown under the encouragement and musical direction of Jakki King to over 65 people, as the Capricorn Gospel Choir. We are a community access choir that began life in March 2015 just after cyclone Marcia. We have performed at Carols by the Beach, Festival of the winds, Village Festival, nursing home and most notably flashmob with Santa at Keppel Plaza (3 times so far). 
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes that was Covid 19. We Thank Jakki for her generosity and strive to keep the Choir as vibrant as it was in the Post Marcia days. The Choir is reborn under a new choral conductor Lorraine Manifold.
