RAINING ROSES

Raining Roses is Sophie Rose Blackman and Damien Blackman. This married couple, based out of Central Queensland, share their musical stylings as a duo and a three-piece band with Nik Grillmeier on drums.
They have shared their original music on stages all around this great state. Their music spans and combines multiple genres which is reflective of working as travelling musicians in an area as diverse as QLD. Sophie brings her years of experience working around Queensland from her early years in country music festivals to almost every local festival you can think of, while Damien brings his background in writing and stand up comedy to present unique and often humorous perspectives in their lyrics.
In 2018 they recorded an album with the illustrious Bill Chambers at his studio in Central New South Wales. 'Reawakened' was their first collaboration and the inspiration for Damien to begin teaching himself bass and for the pair to begin building their home studio.
For the past few years they have been growing their knowledge, software and equipment and are looking to independently produce their own music and offer recording opportunities to other local musicians. Sophie is also studying music full time through the Conservatorium. This means that their long drives to gigs are often filled with lectures. The culmination of Sophie's studies and Damien's studio work is something that they can't wait to begin sharing when they start releasing their original music over the next few months.

Rockhampton born artist  Rebecca Johnson has a passion for all types of creative arts particularly visual and  musical arts, and has  exhibited and performed  throughout  Queensland. She takes  inspiration from aspects of everyday life and fiction to craft acoustic folk music rooted in story telling.

Rebecca's story telling creatively explores the expression of love and chronic illness and uses these challenges  as her inspiration  in the creation of original music. After a long break from performing, she is excited to share both old and new  original music with the community.

ROCKY IMPROV GROUP

Rocky Improv Group is a team of local performers dedicated to the art of making things up.  They're a mix of actors, comedians, dancers and wordsmiths, who've realised there's more to life than learning lines!  They create sketches, scenes, poetry and even songs on the spot inspired by audience suggestions.
Improv is a great way to foster creativity and learn to think on your feet.  It builds problem-solving skills and flexibility, and can help with learning to stay in the moment.  As well as the professional team you can catch at events around Central Queensland, Rocky Improv Group runs all-abilities workshops and training for people who'd like to have a go at improv in a chill, low-pressure space with no obligation to perform in public.
Nobody knows what's going to happen when they step on stage - least of all them!

Blew Fuze are a blues/folk/jazz fuse band performing throughout Central Qld. Presenting an eclectic mix of original music  with Donna Purcell Vocals, Kirsten Jackson Guitar, Colin Christensen Guitar and Percussion and Ray Norman on Bass.

This group of musicians bring a wealth of knowledge and years of experience together to collaboratively create and compose  a unique set of originals that follow the blues tradition of songs about death, loss, suffering and unpredictability
