Celebrate the release of Australian film "The Legend of Ban Hall" in Hollywood style with our with our gala themed event - walk the red carpet, sip a complimentary glass of champagne and nibble on some delicious canapes while mingling with fellow film buffs!
About the Making of the Film
Australian film The Legend of Ben Hall has been made by a passionate group of filmmakers, lead by new comer director Matthew Holmes and including Yeppon local Peter Szilveszter as the films cinematographer. The team has worked tirelessly for the past two years to bring this epic Australian bushranging tale to the big screen.
What started off as a short film project in 2014 quickly gained momentum and morphed from a 30 minute featurette into a full length feature film project. Through massive grassroots support (including many Capricorn Coast locals), the crew raised over $80,000 through crowd funding and then worked endlessly to make their dream a reality. Fast forward to December 2016 and the film is ready to show the world!

After two years on the road, bushranger Ben Hall considers surrendering to the law when his old friend John Gilbert entices him back into the game. Taking on a fresh recruit John Dunn, the gang ride again, before long becoming the most wanted men in the British Empire. When they are declared outlaw, the three decide to flee the colony forever. As Ben Hall seeks to make peace with his tortured past, the their trusted friend becomes a police informant. They set a cunning trap for the outlaws, and on the cold morning of May 5th 1865, Ben Hall emerges alone from his camp... and walks into legend forever.
